We found something deep within the mines of Dragonhome. They were trying to hide it from misuse - they failed. A green crystal, with strange properties - radioactive, they called it. Holding it too long caused strange burns to appear after a day or so. I extracted what I could from it, crushed it into a powder, and together, the Shade and I tested it. Alone, it was not quite useful enough. It needed strength behind it, power. So we constructed a bonfire and tossed it in. The flames immediately turned bright green and everyone nearby could feel how the heat changed. I cannot describe it, but it turned from the warmth of fire to heat of fever. We could feel ourselves decaying in its very presence. It was perfect, the perfect base for a new weapon. Dragons are prepared for fire - but not like this one, that crackles like static and melts the flesh right off the bone.
