She was once a well known runner, winning a lot of races in different categories and places on Sornieth. Everyone knew her name, she had fans, hatchlings were always running after her and asking when they will become like her. But it was all long time ago. Nova's number in every race was 45, she had a special running costume with it. She never wanted to be popular but she was always happy to see that other dragons are cheering her and wishing her well. At least most of them. One day she was offered to lose the race. Albino imperial had placed bet on another dragon and wanted him to win to get as much money as he could. Nova got angry, she would never do such thing for money. Racing was her life, she had to try to win, so she refused. When the race started, there was an accident. Guardian dragon running on her left hit her hind leg when turning and fell on her, breaking it. He only got few scratches, but Nova's leg was crashed, and she was bleeding a lot. Race got cancelled, Nova got healed in few months to the moment she could walk, but she was never again able to run. That race was her last. She gave up on life a lot. She loved racing, and she tried to run few times, but it never ended well. After few tries she started limping. Dragons forgot her, only the older ones remember her from the time when they were hatchlings. All of them were sad about what happened to her, called it "accident", even thought Nova knew perfectly it was all planned. |
