Tarbh is a good person. She was raised that way. Hold doors for people, give up your seat for those who need it more, be considerate of others, use manners, etc. Her mother held Tarbh and her sister, Reithe, to the same high standards of etiquette and no matter what, she'll never be able to fully leave that behind her. Not when she can always hear her mother's voice in her head. That drive - to be good and helpful and honest - is her guiding light, ever her north star pointing the way forward.

She dutifully completed her studies, she joined the Inquisition for martial training, she did her service to her hometown. And what did it get her?

Nothing.

Nothing she did ever mattered; there was still injustice, still crime and suffering, still darkness in the hearts of the powerful. So what's the point? Why did she bother?

Tarbh was a nobody in the scheme of things, just another cog in the wheel, changing nothing, accomplishing nothing. Until she met Vashka. Vashka who stood so brazenly in opposition to How Things Are™ and refused to be bound by the social expectations that had goverend Tarbh's entire life. It opened her eyes. Where Tarbh failed to make life better for anyone, Vashka toppled monarchs, she curbstomped the unjust, she radacalised all she crossed paths with. She showed another way to do things.

A worse way, some might say. A less honourable way, Tarbh's mother whispers in the back of her mind. But what's less honourable really? Doing the same thing on repeat to no avail? Or breaking a few rules and actually making a difference?

Some say Vashka is a bad influence on Tarbh, that she's joined the insanity, demeaned herself, sacrificed all the core moral tenets that made her such an excellent paladin. Tarbh disagrees. She's just a more successful paladin now. Don't worry about the darkness and corruption. It's fine. She's fine.

ORIGIN » Tarbh is a city girl. She was born in a gleaming, white metropolis full of grandiose architecture and gardens. Her family was devout, they went to church, they were good people. She joined the church Inquisition to do good. Those pure intentions didn't help anyone, they didn't solve anything, but it matters that she started from a place of honesty. She can never go back, now, but who ever can go back to their hometown after the world has broken them?

NOTE » She really really wants to be a good person. She believes in it. But sometimes that's not enough. Sometimes it does require evil to defeat evil. She knows that now. She hates it, but better her than someone else. Someone more innocent.

NOTE » Absolutely in love with Vashka. For reasons no one can explain least of all Tarbh, herself. Other people want to make Vashka better, Tarbh sank to her level without hesitation.

Tarbh: I refuse to die until things are better and that is a THREAT.

Tarbh: Yeah I understand women. They all want daggers and swords. It’s quite simple really.
