Hephaestus may not look like a man, but believe it or not he's one of the clan's strongest and most powerful male members. He was often bullied for his looks as a hatchling, which pushed him to be more

He's not only a coliseum general though, he is a gentleman who loves his wife Usha more than everything. Even more than actually fighting and training little apprentices.
It's because of her that he wears a red bow around his neck and he will never take it off because of that reason - even if he's ashamed of it at times. Over the years it became a part of him, and now that their son Herodes is adult and sporting bows as well, it feels more like a family tradition.
