Birds are, in a way, quite similar to dragons. Both, after all, exhibit a variety of body forms adapted to different locations and climates, posses wide variance in diet, and come in such a wide variety of colors one has to wonder how they produce all that pigment. Therefore, it only stands to reason that to understand yourself you need to understand that despite the wide variance the fauna of the world possesses, nature mostly consists of taking a few things that seem to work well enough and recombining them until the result doesn't end up dead.
