Oolana was the name of a beautiful woman of an Aboriginal tribe in Northern Australia; Aboriginal legend says she threw herself into the pool now known as 'Devil's Pools', the water claiming her life, after she was unable to be with her lover. It is said her spirit calls out for her lover still.
