Quote/Headline/Description

Aten was hatched with a silver spoon in his mouth, the first son of a proud and wealthy family of dragons that made their fortune by claiming and cultivating wide swaths of fertile land along rivers and lakes in the Everbloom Gardens. His childhood was carefree and joyful, spent swimming in rivers, basking on their banks, climbing trees, and flying around the canopy. At home, Aten was treated to the lavish court life of his family, to feasts and festivals and the work of artists and entertainers from all over Sornieth.
Aten was blissfully unaware of the trouble facing his family dynasty until it was too late. It was many generations ago that his ancestors worked hard to claim and till the land, and Aten was raised by dragons who were more concerned with their wealth and their status than with work or politics, or with educating their son and successor in such matters. Aten was unaware that his family's spending was funded by the work of many poor farmers who felt that they were being cheated out of what they were due. He was unaware, that is, until he was in the middle of a violent uprising. Aten managed to flee with his life and some of his wealth and began to wander the world, with no direction to go in except away from his old home.
A prince with gilded wings cannot, however, simply vanish into obscurity. Aten was discovered by the druidess Iset wandering along the edge of the Abiding Boneyard, and was taken back to her clan. Iset offered him sanctuary and Jyotis, the clan leader, offered him wealth and status if he could help them figure out how to turn a profit from the harsh and infertile soil of the Scarred Wasteland. While Aten has received little education from his parents, he had spent much of his childhood in their farms and gardens, watching the other dragons at work. He was able to share many valuable secrets with his new clanmates, and through this, found a new home.
