When they were young, SoulWisps wanted to travel the world.

They wanted the ability to fly free across Sornieth, seeing the lowest points of the Spiral Keep and the highest kites of the Cloudsong, wanted to fly among the tangles of the Foxfire Bramble as well as marvel at the heights of the Behemoth. They spent their younger days in flight, always aiming to fly just a little higher and farther, wishing someday to leave their birthplace and soar wherever the wind might take them.

And, when they were big enough, they did just that.

Even an adventurous dragon like SoulWisps can only wander alone for so long before they get bored, however, and a few months into their journeys, SoulWisps found themself feeling lonely. The sights and scents of Sornieth were just as marvelous as they expected, but drifting aimlessly from place to place didn’t feel right to them. All their life, they’d had this one mission. Now that they’d fulfilled it, they had no idea what to do with the rest of their time.

Flying aimless loops around the Beacon of the Radiant Eye one day, SoulWisps saw a white and lavender dragoness emerge from a lair. They lazily swooped down to greet her, thinking perhaps they could take shelter in that clan. But it was not to be. This dragon, Pearl, introduced herself as a courier who delivered messages and packages all over Sornieth. Just like that, SoulWisps’ new ambition was born. And, just as they’d set their course to be a traveler earlier in their life, they turned their determination now towards becoming a messenger.

It took a few months for SoulWisps to get clans to trust them with messages, but they persevered. Their cheerful and willing personality helped them along here until they found work running missives back and forth between a clan in the Southern Icefields and a clan in the Windswept Plateau. After that, their pool of clients grew, until now SoulWisps darts from clan to clan, picking up messages and leaving them off in a one-dragon postal service.

They’re no longer lonely, as every clan they regularly visit is always glad to see them. They still get to travel and see Sornieth, as their clients are all over the world. And they’ve picked up quite a few cool items on their way, such as a bag which expands inside to fit all their message scrolls, and a map which shows the location of any nomadic or stationary clan. Their days are full of travel and secrets and other dragons, and SoulWisps wouldn’t want it any other way.
