Much to his mothers dismay, Prince Saranus is a giant goofball. Full of charisma and quick witt, Saranus always thinking of a silly joke or a funny prank to play on others, always putting smiles on other peoples faces and always bringing joy to others. No matter how serious the situation, Prince Saranus always has something silly to say to brighten the mood. He is often slacking on his royal duties and doesn't act very prince-like at all, which infuriates his mother, Princess Nikki. Princess Nikki is very stern about her rules and demands that all the rules to be followed precisely, but has had no avail with Prince Saranus, who she believes is breaking the rules on purpose for his own amusement.

Despite Saranus's silliness and how often he slacks off on his work, Saranus is extremely intelligent, much more so than other dragons (especially his mother) realize. His brain is seemingly always going and he is able to learn things much more quickly than others can, and he knows when to be serious when necessary.

His two closest friends are Prince Quinn and Princess Deja, both of which love to put up with Prince Saranus's antics. They've all known each other since they were a hatchling and often spend most of their free time together.
