Finbar was a quick, fearless fighter from the Gladeveins, he hailed from a mighty lair nestled in the Viridian Labyrinth, but longed for a challenge in the great unknown, meaning anywhere but home. He left young and eager, traveling far, meeting many other of dragonkind and fighting both beast and fellow dragon alike. He honed his skills and thought himself quite powerful.
He grew quite ill after a time in the Abiding Boneyard, and limped off to heal in a hovel burrowed out in the ground. Sickened and weak, he couldn't catch food, and couldn't run, could barely walk at that. Figuring this was the end, he laid down in his hovel and slept, it'd been a good run, he just wished he'd gone out in battle instead of too some silly sickness.
He awoke some days later in a feverish haze to gemcrusted claws, he slashed at the intruder, who backed off until he slept again. When he woke a second time, he found himself being cared for by a female skydancer named Cavan. She slowly nursed him back to health while the two traded tales, she'd left her clan young too, but for a love of inventing. She'd apparently come from a clan of performers, but had always been happier with a few wires in hand than anywhere near a stage. She was so kind, and brilliant, and gorgeous, and so brave for striking out on her own so young; he was in love.
Unfortunately for the pair, he had to leave the boneyard, couldn't risk getting that sick again, and she had decided to stay, a nearby clan had a crafter who might be able to teach her something. They said goodbye, and heartbroken, he departed.
He journeyed to the Tangled Wood where he was chased into a corner in the Brambles by a tricksy fae, he attacked the creature and was pounced upon by her guardian, a massive Guardian dragon named Fehler. He was beaten qick and soundly, too quick, he was either abysmally of his game, or this was a powerful dragon indeed. At the curious faes invitation, he joined the clan with hopes that someday he'd be able to out match the guardian. The older dragon amused, agreed to a rematch and sparring sessions, so long as when the day came, Finbar would help him confront the spiral Narr.
Happy to be training with one so strong, the dragon offered his services as a messenger as well, assisting the fae Tzilla on longer missions or ones carrying packages she couldn't carry. One such mission took him to the Windswept Plateau. When delivering his message to a fae named Etta in a small WInd clan, he stumbled upon his beloved skydancer! Overjoyed he begged the lady to come back with him, but she had found work and a competent teacher here. He couldn't go back on his promise to the guardian so he sadly began to depart. Cavan however, sent him off with a favor, a flower from the Plateau, and a promise to visit. He promised the same and ran off.
It's many long miles around the sea to get back to his Cavan, and a tiring journey as he must go around the longer way to avoid the plague-lands, though he curses the time it takes to reach his pretty skydancer, he makes the journey biweekly, to try and court the lady into eventually traveling with him.
