Currently:
Burya has been very focused on the clan protections of late and has been carefully ensuring a smooth transition for the large influx of new citizens. He has had a lot more on his plate with Efret being so very distracted! With the clan growing so very large, he has decided to take on a ward that he intends to train as his magic assiant, he has yet to find a good fit for the position though.
Burya makes time when he can to see his son, Dikratsu, and his granddaughter, Shishna. Every so often he will send letters to his son, BlackCurrent, who moved far away. At home, he and his mate are glad to have the den to themselves again!

Back Story:
From birth Burya was gifted with magic. Being a bit much for the young child to easily control, and a bit much for his birth parents to handle, Burya was sent off to study under Efret. After the death of his mother, Efret took him on as his ward and Burya has looked up to him ever since. At one point, Burya’s magic got so out of control that Efret took him to a small magic training school called The Rose Garden to help in his training. An acquaintance of Efret’s accidentally ended up cursing Burya with an ice elemental that reacts to his emotions by freezing things nearby.
Burya has always had a very intimidating appearance, but is very sedate acting. This has been rather forced on him by the nature of both his magic and his curse which can be very dangerous if he doesn’t maintain self-control. Burya tends toward depression because of the burdens of his situation, he doesn’t have any ill will toward the caster, Aiqtiham, though. Burya, more than most, understands the pain of losing control. He and his soul sister Nzuri often commiserate about the complications of their situations.
After some years, Burya gain enough self control and magic skill to become the clan mage. For the most part he found his new position well respected. The exception being that he had gained the anger of the beautiful and also quite temperamental, Teoatl. Shortly after their meeting, Burya had well and truly upset her by freezing a good portion of the gardens during an argument with Efret. Burya was determined to set things right by landscaping artist and apologized profusely. After abit of extreme groveling, she shocked him by demanding a date in repayment.
After 2 years dating she asked him to marry her! They settled down and happily raised several children.

Griener is an odd sort that is often hard to find. Burya doesn’t keep him as a pet but rather will call him out of the forest from time to time for joint spell work and give him treats. Teoatl will not allow him near the gardens as his presence causes overgrowth of the plants. Griener likes nothing more than to lounge in the shade of the twisted forest and hide Burya’s crystals.
