Fizz was found lodged within a log in the Driftwood Drag as an egg. It is unknown whether hys egg was accidentally lost or purposefully abandoned, and at this point in their life, Fizz has no desire to find out. Hys egg was taken in by three Wind Flight scavengers for the purpose to be sold, as they assumed since it was abandoned it was unfertilized. Yet lo and behold, a tiny Fae and a broken Shadow egg lay in their hoard nights later. The scavengers had not the time, schedule, or care to raise an unwanted or, worst case, stolen child, so they left hym in the Singer's Brook, assuming he would be taken care of by wildlife or other means. Such a fate did not befall young Fizz, as a Skydancer couple came upon hym and took them in. Hy was raised in a small den in the Zephyr Steps by the Skydancers, named Nimbus and Drift. Hys natural instincts led foraging for hys own food to be a problem, so his caretakers had to help... A lot. He was named Fitztempest, and hys caretakers cherished them endlessly. As he grew, he was taught magic by Nimbus, who showed him basic restoration and healing abilities. Fizz learned quickly but mastered slowly, thankfully Nimbus was a kind and caring teacher throughout. Fizz was fully grown when he decided it was time to leave. He was born to a Flight he had never known, and felt it was his right to. Tearfully, he said goodbye to his caretakers, and made the long flight back to Tangled Wood.

Fitztempest, who now socially goes by Fizz, founded a clan for the Shadowbinder, named simply "Voidscale Veil". The Voidscales are separated into subclans based on skills, and Fizz chose to be a part of the Softshadow Nocturnes, who focus on foraging in more dangerous parts of the land. These dragons tend to have proficiencies in gathering and fighting, which Fizz absolutely does. Hy wanted to have hands-on experience within his clan instead of watching in safety in the den while others fought for his cause. It also helps that the Softshadows occasionally forage within Bamboo Falls, a dangerous location near Singer's Brook, where hy was first found by their caretakers... Fizz’s hands-on approach helps in building trust and respect among hys clan members, who see their leader not as a distant figure but as an active participant in the clan’s everyday life. As a leader, Fizz handles large decisions such as subclan appointing, exalting, and diplomatic relations. Fizz makes significant decisions regarding subclan appointments, ensuring that the most capable and suitable dragons are assigned to roles where they can thrive and contribute effectively. The process of exalting, or recognizing and promoting dragons to directly serve the Shadowbinder based on their achievements and contributions, is also a key responsibility for Fizz. This helps in maintaining morale and motivating the clan members to strive for excellence. Diplomatic relations are another crucial aspect of Fizz’s role. As a leader, Fizz represents the Voidscales in interactions with other clans and external entities, forging alliances, negotiating terms, and addressing any conflicts that arise. The ability to balance these diplomatic efforts with the clan’s internal needs is essential for maintaining the Voidscale Veil’s standing and security. |
