A bloodthirsty and slightly sadistic personality, Wintertake is one of the most feared dragons, beaten only by Ebony. He's incredibly strange, because one moment he can be quiet and tame, but other times he'll be irritable and snappy. These mood swings are erratic and unpredictable. Put Joiya anywhere within three yards of him and the ruder side of his personality will surface.
The dragons wonder why Calypso allowed him to stay, and are left confused when she simply tells them that letting him stay was payment for a debt she had with him. For a dragon like Calypso to be in the debt of a dragon like Wintertake, no one has the guts to ask what happened.
You would think that he and Joiya were a match made in heaven, but they're actually at each other's throats constantly, arguing and snarling at the other on a daily basis.
He says he doesn't like her because of her arrogance.
He's normally quite level-headed when Joiya isn't around. But I wouldn't recommend finding out what exactly he does with that cleaver of his. And I gotta tell ya; it ain't for cooking.
