Biography

Riptide | The Gatekeeper

alert | reserved | patient | wry | indecisive | straightforward

A quiet member of the clan, Riptide prefers to be withdrawn and reclusive. Somehow - thanks to a combination of his disposition and natural magical talents - he became responsible for protecting the upper limits of the clan's territory. He goes about it with tired serenity. He's somewhat happy to be useful, and his ability to influence currents makes his daily tasks easier than some others, but he wishes he didn't have to deal with all the visitors. He's really not the best person for the job.
  • Is the descendant of some original clansmen, and feels pride in his heritage
  • Sometimes slips away to the surface to bask in the sun (but never leaves the water).
  • Enjoys the company of Brine and Kaiosei. They bond over their shared magical affinity for water.
  • There was once incident near the beginning when he almost caused a war between clans. He has since learned to be more diplomatic and less abrasively blunt.
  • Has an ear for music, and enjoys that he can hear songs and whispers from far across the ocean.
