NAME was always the most popular of her mother’s apprentices, because the emotion her magic eats away at is exhaustion. The magic knows when you’ve found a loophole, though, a sacrifice that isn’t, and so the gifts that come out of it are useless or worse and the tiredness slams back at the most inopportune times. That isn’t her problem, though; she doesn’t use it for herself. Maybe it’s irresponsible of her, but she doesn’t really see how she’s much worse than a coffee problem, and it’s not like she never warns them. They don’t listen, but she can say she tried.
