NAME’s magic works on burning up faith, which means that he very rarely gets repeat customers. It’s just easiest - least messy - to burn up their faith in his abilities, because they have to have at least some in order to come to him at all, and he just has to hope that whatever they get out of it, they don’t need to come see him again. He doesn’t really like the uncertain look they give him afterwards, the anxiety that he might have taken more than he said, that he’s a fraud or a trickster, but he also doesn’t want to be accidentally ruining someone’s faith in the Eleven or in themselves. Easiest this way, he tells himself.
