Lore

Olivine is the clan's babysitter of choice, and is in charge of tending the hatchery.
She is a cheerful, bubbly dragon who is well loved by all the clan's hatchlings, and is rarely seen without at least one youngster chasing after her.

A developmental disorder has led to Olivine being a lot younger mentally than her body would indicate, a trait which makes her perfectly suited to the work she loves. It has also stunted her physical growth, and she is smaller, with stumpier limbs and an upturned nose. While she still has a sense of responsibility and protectiveness about the hatchlings in her care, she can also relate to them easily, and thoroughly enjoys her time playing with them. Her fellow adult clan members are nothing but loving, but she feels more at ease with the younger members, where her immaturity and difficulty understanding some things never make her self-conscious.

One of her duties within the clan is to mind hatchlings of parents visiting Snastle, and both Olivine and the clan's own hatchlings thoroughly enjoy the constant influx of new friends. Her other duty is to act as an attendant in the hatchery. Initially she tidied up the nests and helped outnumbered parents to wrangle lively newborns from large nests. However, after witnessing a number of difficult egg layings and learning the struggles that can occur over the incubation period, she wanted to do more. She asked Peony to teach her how to act as an assistant to layings and learned how to deal with many medical issues.

She loves being able to help, and the hatchlings often assist her when her hatchery duties call. They take their time playing 'doctors and nurses' with the required seriousness, running errands, helping to soothe newborns and to entertain and distract the stressed parents stuck incubating.
