Amaya

Teeth and claws clashed as Amaya and her opponent fiercely battled. Amaya ripped off the edge of her opponents wing right as her opponent ripped of some of her tail. Amaya growled with pain and jumped away. Amaya quickly finished the fight, leaving the ring in pain. She won- the pain was worth it for the money. Half a million in treasure wasn't anything to sneeze at, that's for sure.

A loud displeased caw greeted her as she walked into dressing room. Her childhood best friend and familiar, Nix, flew up to her with bandages in his mouth. The avian cawed and sat on her shoulder as she tended to her wound. Suddenly, he pecked her right in the middle of her head.

"Ow! Damn Nix.. what was that for?" Nix went to peck her again. "Fine! I know, I know. I'll ease up next time I fight and be more careful. I just... this one was strong." Amaya promised herself in that moment to get stronger. "I will get stronger- then I'll be undefeated!"

Nix's feathers ruffled before it sighed- he was pouting. He dropped a beautiful gemstone into her claws. It was black- some white flecks that almost seemed like stars in the center. If you looked closely enough, there were deep blue swirls that made it seem like a galaxy was in the stone.

"It's beautiful. Thanks, Nix." She patted the crow on the head. He leaned into her touch.

Amaya opened the treasure box near her nest. There were numerous stones and gems inside- a gift from Nix as a reward for winning another battle.

She would, and forever be, Amaya the Undefeated.
