Kauris joined the Guild only for one reason; to find ancient forbidden knowledge that would allow her to free a dangerous being that the Guild holds captive. She pretends to be just a scholar of ancient scrolls and to keep up her act, Kauris restores frail old scrolls to their former glory. And if her advice is needed, she gives it without complaining. But deep down Kauris only cares about awakening it.

When alone, Kauris talks to a figure resembling her deity. Promising it that it can come back soon enough, she just needs more time to find the right book. It might be easier said than done, but Kauris is determined to succeed.

She was chosen after all! Chosen from her coven to go on the quest to restore it.

Failing isn't an option. Failing would mean that she can't face her own kin ever again. Failing would also mean that she would anger her patron and lose her magic.

Luckily for Kauris, none of the Guild members are suspecting anything.

They have bigger things to worry about than some quirky mage who spends a lot of time alone in her study.
