Biography

KIRUNALI
Singer
2jf0utc.png
Kirunali is a rather unusual spiral in that she is neither hyperactive nor easily distracted. Instead, she is very good at getting herself on one track and sticking to it. Born in Arcane, she spent many years training under some of the best singers in the Starfall Isles. Once she learned all she could, she decided to leave, looking for more teachers so she can learn new styles and techniques. Her goal is to become one of the best singers in all of Sorenith, combining regional styles as well as her own unique flavor.

--

Kirunali traveled to the Windswept Plateau, where the temperamental winds blew constantly, insistently. Sometimes, it seemed as if the air itself was singing a constant tune.

As she weaved her body amongst the clear sky, Kirunali hummed to herself, meshing her tune to the wind's own music. The breeze carried her voice along, attracting the attention of two silk-clad skydancers. Soon, the spiral was greeted by a pair of feather-winged dragons, who greeted her warmly and invited her for a rest within their clan, and to perhaps learn about her wondrous singing.

Upon setting down within the clan's grounds, a tiny fae came up to Kirunali. She guessed him to be the leader of the clan, and soon found herself correct as he addressed himself as such. The fae, Shagaru, offered her a place within their clan, even if it would be temporary, as the spiral would soon leave again when it was time. Until that time came, she became an honorary member of the clan.

While Kirunali stayed, she was treated like family, given wonderful food to eat and a warm, comfy nest to sleep in. The naturally-curious hatchlings flocked to the newcomer. Upon hearing her singing for the first time, the young dragons were enamored and they pelted her with questions and begged for her to sing constantly. They had to be herded away constantly so that the spiral could rest.

In the meantime, Kirunali became friends with the two skydancers she had met, and had discovered were mates. The two were the clan's official dancers who often performed for the other dragons, even teaching them how to dance. The female was even a musician, always creating different songs for her and her mate to dance to. The three dragons spoke together often, talking and sharing about the musical techniques they knew. Kirunali even got to take a few small dance lessons with the skydancers. She learned a bit about dancing within the sky, about how to turn her body in flight into a work of mesmerizing art.

With all the dancing she learned, Kirunali soon discovered that the wind seemed to have a liking to her and imprinted itself upon her scales. At first, she was surprised, but then she was delighted to know that she was liked here. She was given a couple of golden silks to commemorate her dancing, and the young hatchlings had made little bits of jewelry for the spiral to take with her.

Although she would be sad to leave, the urge to travel again was itching within her again. It wouldn't be long before she would say farewell to this clan in the Windswept Plateau.

After flying a bit over to the Ashfall Waste Kirunali found herself in the midst of a clan of warriors. She was greeted with slight apprehension, since this was a clan built on fighting, and in comes a seemingly useless traveling singer. She was begrudgedly given a place to stay with the clan's other Spiral Bronwyn. Kirunali found her highly annoying. As she stayed with the clan she tried to shoe her talents of dance and singing to them. Honestly no one paid her any mind. Everyone was busy with something or another, gathering food or fighting enemies. While she sat alone in a secluded part of the clan she met Garnet, a outcast and artist. Though Kirunali didn't know this dragon once Garnet asked her what was wrong she spilled everything. Garnet lay a wing over her in simpathy. Garnet told her one of themost important things she would learn on her journies in Sorieth: "Dance and songs aren't just out in the open ya' know. Sometimes you just have ta' watch a clan work to see it." This advice hit Kirunali hard. After that day she stopped moping about how terrible it was here and started in integrate herself into the clan. And found Garnet was right! She noticed when she gathered food with the gatherers of the clan she could see the intensity and strength of their movements as they looked for food. When she watched the dragons bustle around on clan grounds she saw grace as they moved to and fro. But the one thing she discovered was the song of the clan. It was hard, intense, noble, strong, and one that would be passed from generation to generation, one that would beat in the blood of every hatchling born here. Now having her eyes opened to more things than ever before she bid the clan -especially Garnet- a farewell and moved on to her next destination.

--

After traveling for some time, she began to feel homesick. She missed the beautiful Starfall Isles of her homeland. Much time had passed and she had heard of the great musicians joining the arcane flight, teaching all new techniques to the scholars of arcane to be shared with future generations to come. On her travels around her homeland, she met a nice clan. It was a tight fit but she loved all of the amazing things she learned as she watched new dragons come and go and old stay long and welcome new clan members. She wanted to stay but she knew she had much to learn. She said farewell to her friends and left to continue on her journey.
