Andraste

A wisp of what once was. The name of Andraste is a living legend among certain clans, passed down from dragon to dragon in an oral tradition older than most can remember. Andraste was the living embodiment of the cold dawn of the Southern Icefields; in the first battles between the deities, the Icewarden at first turned away and refused his aid to those who were fighting to keep their territory on his land. She made a pilgrimage with her mate Maferath to the very heart of the land, where no dragon dared tread, and through her words convinced the Icewarden to aid his faithful followers in war.

She was a light; she was cast down. Betrayed by Maferath (though some argue that perhaps she went willingly), Andraste's life was ended by enroaching enemies. From her death rose titanic rage; slow to start, but unstoppable. Far from quelling morale, it only brought wrath and destruction upon the enemies of the Icewarden. She is a light no longer here; her body was well-preserved and still bears the wounds that led to her death, but there is something different now. She is quiet, but not placid; should she be martyred a second time (unlikely) she will not be pleased. She is content to observe, to guide, but not to lead. She has a different view of the world, having slept for so long.
