От прошлых руководителей клана не осталось и следа, и такова данность чумных земель - либо ты сильнее, умнее, ловчее, либо тебя нет. Вильям установил здесь свои порядки и правила, привёл своих верных сторонников, и теперь правит новой Тёмной Империей, Волки и Мотыльки: Волки - это аристократия и основная стая, отдающая приказы, а мотыльки - множество верных прихвостней, выполняющих всю работу. Его приёмная дочь Волча, придумавшая название для Семьи про Волков и Мотыльков, без тени страха и риска может тискаться с ним, превращая Вильяма из тирана в мягкую пыхтящую булочку. Она - единственное, что имеет значение, и ради неё он готов на всё.
