baylee was lonely, again.

she used to enjoy solitude. she couldn’t stand being with other dragons— they were loud, uncouth, too boisterous for their own good, and overall horrid company.

her charge... she’d thought it was the jewel for so long. baylee had worn it as a necklace for seemingly decades, but there was still this insatiable urge... an urge to keep on searching.

and so she did, but how long are guardians supposed to live? how long are they meant to keep searching? could a guardian never find their charge?

it’s been a millennia. she’s sure of it.

i know what it's like to lose. to feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless. dread it. run from it. destiny still arrives. or should i say, i have.
