Biography
Cherub is a soft, loving soul. The idea of bringing harm to any creature is an incomprehensible concept to her. When a dragon is injured, she is often the first to respond. refusing to leave their side and going above and beyond to care for them until they are well enough to be on their way. She often helps to care for the clan's young, telling them stories, playing and teaching them crafts. It is common for her to spend time weaving fabric into soft ribbons and bows which she then brings to the nesting grounds. The bows are gently set upon or beside the incubating eggs or given directly to the children that have already broken free of the protective shells. Above all else, however, Cherub adores the clouds. She will often sit for hours gazing up at them lazily floating by above her or soaring in and out of their banks while the world below continues to turn.
Cherub lounged lazily at the top of a cliff, her wings stretched out across the ground to absorb as much of the morning sun's warmth as possible. Far below stretched the lands her clan called home. Her vantage point allowed her to see everything from the nesting grounds to the expanse of glades at the edge of the territory. A contented sigh pushed itself from Cherub's chest. This was her home and safe haven. She wouldn't change it for anything in the world. She turned her golden eyes from the grounds sprawled at the base of the cliff, turning her attention to the clouds above.
The clouds had always been a source of wonder and love for Cherub. They slid through the heavens without a care in the world and nurtured the earth below with life-giving rains. Without the clouds, the world would not be as it was. Cherub tried to incorporate them into her life. Much of who she was today was due, in part, to the clouds. She tried not to worry about things too much and always did her best to help her clan when they needed her. Cherub shifted where she lay, her wings itching suddenly now that her attention had been drawn above. The time for resting was over.
Rousing herself from her relaxation, Cherub flexed her wings in a huge stretch and slid off the cliff. Her wings billowed around her, catching the air and turning her fall into a graceful arc up into the sky. Her heart beat faster with exhilaration as she grew ever closer and closer to the clouds until at last, with one final beat of her wings, she burst through into the depths of the bank. The water held within the clouds soaked her scales and ran almost playfully through her feathers. Cherub closed her eyes, relishing the feeling. Flying in the clouds was almost like hugging a friend to her.
She spent what felt like hours ducking in and out of the cool, foggy bundles, leaving trails in her wake each time she emerged back into the sun. The world around her didn't exist. It was only her and her cloudy companions. Her wings began to ache after being airborne for so long. So it was that she begrudgingly bid her friends farewell and angled herself back down to the ground. Once again she settled onto the top of the cliff, laying down and spreading her wings to allow them to dry. Her large golden eyes slowly slid closed and she fell into a peaceful slumber where she continue to soar among the clouds in her dreams.
