Even the Golden Queen cannot recall a time before this revenant existed. It seems her tomb has always been there, perched on its lofty crag at the edge of the city, slowly baking and crumbling away in the sun.

Its lone inhabitant, similarly, is a vision of bygone glory. Jewels still stud her hide; her mane still gleams, rich and full, with gold. But beneath the jewels, beneath the gold, beneath the honey that enshrouds her, Krissys has clearly been dead for some time.

Nothing remains of the vitality she might have once possessed. No blood wells from her dry skin; no heart beats within that darkened husk. Her eyes seem alight with life, but even that’s an illusion. A closer look reveals them to be nothing more than painted stones, polished and set deep into her skull.

And yet a shred of her spirit remains. In defiance of death’s grasp, she still moves. She still speaks and thinks.

Occasionally, querents enter the dusty tomb to ask her about the distant past. For her memory is long—longer than even the lifespans of Harmatton’s ethereal denizens—and she is often able to answer questions about matters that might otherwise be lost to time.

Despite the knowledge Krissys can bestow, visitors to her tomb are rare. The deep, honey-filled cistern is calm, its surface seeming like a solid slab of amber, polished and unbroken, giving no hint of the slumberer in its depths. The dusty floors around it continue to crack and crumble; the narrow, zigzagging corridors, thickly lined with books, are silent—save for the occasional page, torn loose at last, fluttering to the floor.

Krissys is nothing but cordial to those to approach her, her mannerisms languid and lethargic. But rumors abound that once, she devoured any who dared enter her tomb. That the bottom of her cistern is thickly coated in a sheet of bones—or worse yet, the corpses of those she preyed upon, as perfectly preserved in the honey as she is.

There are no credible accounts, written or otherwise, to support these rumors. Among the current residents of Harmatton, there are none who can recall these incidents actually happening.

Yet they remain wary of Krissys. For there are warnings that run deeper than history can take root. Their optimism tells them that she is docile because perhaps it’s in her nature...

...but their instincts warn them that it’s because she’s well fed.

Honey Mummy Variant: Honey mummies are the sweetest out of all variants, though they are also quite deceitful when roused. They are currently ranked as the least lethal of the variants however, due to not being aggressive until provoked. They are easily pacified with offerings, which also means they are the most studied variant to date.

Bright Eyes: The standard for all dragons, these eyes are, despite their appearance, very impaired due to age. Most mummies with normal eyes mostly rely upon touch and sound to navigate their environment. These dragons were either not given a proper burial, died in dishonor, or were simply not of great importance. And are not rewarded with eyesight, in their life after death.

Earth Flight: Earth mummies have well documented temples, often detailing every dragon that had contributed to its construction. Earth mummies themselves are very hardy and difficult to kill, possessing very thick skin; this could prove inconvenient, if the need to kill one were to arise.
