Orphaned as a hatchling and brought to the auction house to be sold into slavery, Raziel's future looked bleak. When it was his time, he was held up to be shown, his price tag spoken loudly to the other dragons in the room. No one seemed to take notice as he was placed into his crate. Time seemed to stop for the depressed young dragon, he wanted to die. As he closed his eyes with a soft sniffle, he heard a soft voice and felt himself being lifted. Raziel's eyes flew open and he looked straight into the eyes of a female mirror. Shelby cuddled him and assured him he would be alright as she brought him home to Solanaceae's lair.

Growing up, Raziel treated Shelby as his mother and mentor. He still suffered from bad nightmares and anxiety, which made him grow angry at times. Shelby saw this anger and hatred and used it to train him as an assassin. She hoped that having a way to channel away those bad feelings would help heal him. It did help a bit, and he poured all his time and energy into becoming the best he could be. Shelby saw how wonderful he was at his job and appointed him to be the head of the newly formed Assassins Guild. He helped Shelby choose and train two other dragons, Koyu and Shade, which formed his assassin team, Shadow Faction. The three of them became a nearly unstoppable team of best friends.

Besides training, Raziel found it easy to relax in the garden among the flowers, which drew the attention of Gaia. Gaia was the clan's very shy familiar caretaker. She was gentle and quiet, just her presence seemed to calm familiars and dragons alike. Raziel was drawn to her and would seek out her presence even if it were at a distance. One day, to his surprise, Gaia came to lay mere inches away from him. Testing the water, he slowly inched closer so that his shoulder brushed up against hers. Gaia didn't move and they laid like that for hours in silence. This became their daily ritual and it seemed to calm Raziel more than his training. He soon got up the courage to softly speak to her about becoming his mate. She merely giggled and leaned against him. Raziel took this as a yes, smiled, and silently cuddled against her.

Some people like to joke about Raziel being two different dragons. When he's in work mode, he becomes loud and vicious as he snaps orders and growls when they aren't obeyed. He's also very loud and obnoxious when he's with his team, laughing and play fighting like an adolescent. But when he's with Gaia, he's very quiet and gentle and clearly a lover.

One day he found Gaia, her body lifeless and mangled. Raziel's whole world seemed to shatter in an instant and everything turned red. When he came back to himself, there were several bloodied serthis bodies scattered by his feet. In his rage, he had hunted down the wrong doers who had claimed his gentle Gaia's life and slew them mercilessly.

After the ordeal, Raziel was left cold and angry. He removed himself from his friends, only speaking to bark out orders. Raziel now spends most of his free time laying across the grave of his fallen loved one, mourning her loss.
