TreeClan's 2nd Witch (Chief's Apprentice)

Jinx was hatched with something that made her different from the other Coatls- White feathers. She was cast out from hatching, and although her handler, Mayfly, decided to keep her and loves her, Jinx's family disowned her. He mother, Nautilus, tried to look after her for a day, then decided she was more trouble that she was worth. Macintosh and his parents (Who still live in the Clan)(Crygate and Junipea) quickly turned away, calling Jinx a bad omen and pushing her away.

Jinx was too young to understand. This was harsh treatment, but she didn't know this yet. She thought it was normal, and she became tough, attacking others in the nursery not with her claws or teeth, but with words. Among the other dragons in the nursery at the time, she became enemies with Khuon and Cambria. Even Rosetta, who seemed to like everyone, quickly jumped to unfriendly terms with Jinx. Brisky and Rintis had to break up many fights between Jinx and the other hatchlings. The only one who even tried to help her was a Dusthide named Ebby.

Ebby is always positive. He marvels at the little things, is lazy, and loves sunlight. When Jinx first hatched, Ebby had been yelled at and was subdued, but he still made an effort to befriend the Coatl. Jinx was surprised at his kindness, so she did what she knew... She tried to push him away. Ebby saw this, but he also saw a small ember of loneliness, sadness, and fear underneath that. He kept trying, and even though Jinx argued, Ebby kept going. He kept trying to help her see the positive side, and she eventually gave in. She tried to see the way he did, and although it was hard, she did her best. Ebby taught her to be kind. He taught her many other things, too, and they love each other dearly in a platonic way.

The first time Jinx started to explore outside the nursery, Juniper was performing for the Clan, doing magic she had been taught by Chief. Chief was nearby at the time, and invited Jinx to sit with him. He explained the magic to Jinx, who listened carefully. Jinx begged for Chief to teach her more, and he offered that she be his apprentice. She happily accepted. She is a witch-in-training now. She also befriended Juniper later on, after talking to her when she came to see Chief.

Jinx met Oro when she was only a day old. She was already a witch in training by this time, and she was wary of the multi-gaze dragonet. Oro, who is very curious, had been sold to the Clan by their handler's friend, Petalbreeze. He didn't seem to mind this all, not thinking anything of it as he was so young. He kept a few eyes on Jinx at all times, which was helpful since she tried to cast spells on him a few times. She stopped when she was caught for the fourth time, giving up. She felt bad about being caught and not being able to cast the spells, and she hid herself. Oro, being who he was, went to see her and ask what was wrong. Jinx admitted to what she felt quickly, but she was snappy about it. Oro didn't mind, it flew right past him, and he laid next to her and fell asleep. The Coatl was shocked by this, but found it comforting.
They later realized how well they fit together and became mates.

While Jinx is still kept well away from the other Coatls, she has become friends with a few other dragons in the Clan. She still has her old enemies from the nursery, and her family still treats her harshly, but she works hard to earn the love of other dragons around her. She sometimes has a hard time when she argues or turns away from other, because that's just what she knows. And she won't try to be anything different from what she is to impress others, and sometimes this bothers other dragons, but she ignores them, holding her head high. She keeps on being who she is, and she is beloved especially by Ebby, Chief, and her handler, Mayfly. She lives a good life nowadays.
