Biography

Healer -- Gardener -- Orphan

A healer with a storied past almost as colorful as that of her namesake. Suffice to say, she has seen much suffering and sorrow - and never had her spirit dampened for it. A refugee from the lands on the edges of Draconic territory, a city in the Light region home to several clans. While her home was a peaceful farming community, the Beastclans had seen enough of Dragonkind’s “forays” into the wildernesses to reject their kind, one and all. And their rejection was brutal, swift, unexpected. The city was unprotected; underground lairs and stone towers were collapsed, destroyed utterly by a series of make-shift catapults and the sieging army.

It was the first attack on a civilian region, and on a city no less; while the motivations were clearly understood, perhaps earning some sympathetic thoughts, the retaliation by other nearby clans was swift. Those who could be rescued and escorted from the ruins were often wounded, and one and all traumatised; they had lost their homes, and many had lost family.

In the aftermath of the attack, Aerith was a dragon who had lost her family, clan, mate and children. She was taken in by another, but her relationship with the new clan was one marked by a great emotional distance, and when she was up and on her wings, she took to a life of travel. At times she lived with clans, but always she returned to the Adoption Caverns, and by the end the dragons there were sad to see her inevitably depart time and time again. Despite her body healing of the scars suffered in the attack, her mind was still in torment. Afraid of the Beastclans, afraid to let herself become a part of a new family for fear of losing it, afraid to accept a new home, she roved across the face of Sornieth. She Sired many nests, but her new children found their Sire cold, distant, always attentive but never truly affectionate, loving. When they left the Nest, they often lost contact, and the Pacts between Sires dissolved quickly, seldom repeated.

Her time spent travelling was full of study, and while she had been a simple Gardener in her homeclan, she took to Healing soon after the attack; she had seen too much blood spilled at her feet and not done enough to stop it. While being unable to bring herself to attack, she is nonetheless present on the battlefield slinging Wards and casting Aid, as a Magi of growing power and unfathomable potential - for she is not only driven by desire, but by the faces of those she once loved.

80 years is young for a dragon yet, and with time she has begun to thaw her Icy heart; sweet Azaeria has ways of drawing a smile to her maw, and she can never quite pass up the opportunity to quibble with Tyrius.

She’s even Nested again; the exile Apocalypse understands trauma, and has her own to carry. The two are similar in color and past, and have bonded very closely. Their first Pact together produced some beautiful White and Ice twins, and together they're learning how to raise hatchlings together. They might not be the perfect parents, but they have a lot of help from their adoptive clan.

She also gets on quite well with Yndica, and loves wearing versions of hir fashions and jewelry. The Silks that shi’s been trying to make, buy, beg, borrow or steal have caught her eye, and she longs to lounge in gossamer yards of soft silky fabric and softly jingling silver ornaments. While their relationship is mostly fashion, there is definite warmth between them growing like an ember on her cool, frightened heart.

And yet deep within it still nags at her:

When will she leave again?

When will this clan cast her out and sent her West?

When will the Beastclans return to lay waste to their homes?

In the wake of the Uprising, her fears remained a terrible shaft of ice within her soul every time she feels a smile rise to the surface. To the younger, the sheltered, who never knew the bitterness of loss, she seemed standoffish, a typical Icy jerk… but those in twinMoon seem to understand her.
