Betrayed. Broken. Arisen Anew.

These were the memories that Orpheus had of his early life. The stab of fangs at his throat, the pull of claws against his wings. They had left him for dead. His once friends. He had arisen anew, less trusting of strangers, suspicious of those that promised him things with seemingly no strings attached, more careful of leaving his guard down even among those that considered him a friend.

His wounds have long since healed. The physical ones, anyway. His mental scars he covered by learning his chosen art. By lulling those around him into a false sense of security with his stories and his songs. He felt powerful. He felt like he could do anything.

And he did. He began to travel, spreading his tales, his reputation, gaining the favour of all the right people in all the right places. Those who believed his words were rewarded with what they thought was his friendship.

Those that rose against him... Well... They will speak their slander of him no more.
