Dylana was torn. Almost from the moment she was born, she knew that she wanted to be a mother- She became her family's resident babysitter. She'd keep nests warm as her cousin went out to feed, and she minded the hatchlings as her sister dug out a larger nest- And yet it seemed like she would never have a child of her own.

She couldn't stand the thought of taking a mate! She had plenty of male friends, but a mate??? Never. She wanted nothing less.

No mate meant no hatchlings, and it was breaking her heart.

One late night she curled up, her heart heavy and hurting. Just a few hours later, though, something was nudging at her tail- When her eyes opened, she found a pebbly Dusthide hatchling trying to get under her for warmth.

Dylana never found out where Cadan came from, and she's noticed that the hatchling never seems to grow- But she doesn't care. She finally has her baby.
