Biography
The tree hollow is dark when you step through the curtain of ivy shielding the entrance. For a long moment your eyes cannot make out anything but shadows, before adjusting to your surroundings. You look around at shelves upon shelves stocked with crystals, herbs and jars, wonky but tall, much taller than you. They're intimidating. You take another step inside, quiet like something was going to jump out at you if you startled it - you're not sure if it's ridiculous or likely. Hesitantly, you open your mouth, the smell of all those herbs mixing together into something heavy and sickening.
“Hello? Is somebody there?”
Your voice is swallowed by the wooden walls around you, your claws scraping lines into the floor. You've heard countless tales about this crystal shop, it was said by enthusiasts that anybody with even a slight interest in the arkana must visit someday. But you've been warned of the owner too, have heard them described as ‘unique’ and ‘frightening’. While you don't think that this place means danger, the thrumming in your veins makes you hesitate to write that option off.
It feels like a lifetime passes. Your words left unanswered, floating in a liminal space of being remembered and forgotten. Then, there appears a spot of light in the back of the hollow, a flickering candle spilling light that is reflected by hundreds and hundreds of crystals around you in all colors of the rainbow. It's breathtaking. Eyes of the arcane meet your own, an amused face analyzes your expression. The dragon chuckles.
“Welcome to my store, darling.”
