Clunker

Nobody is quite sure where darling Clunker came from, but Penchant's heard the long and short of it from Donovan all the same. If he's to be believed ---general uproar and reproachful looks from the dragon in question say he absolutely is, but Penchant fancies herself a reporter at this hour, so a healthy dose of suspicion can hardly go awry--- an odd turn about ye old illuminated manuscripts, section FE, found what else but an odd, protrusion-ridden egg, lying as if it fell from the sky. Which, to be clear, it couldn't. Who would be silly enough to build a library without a roof, thank you very much.

At a loss for what to do, Donovan grabbed Tupelo, who, at a similair loss, grabbed Latte, and on the stream went until the heavy egg had been christened Clunker of all things and a cushion of least historical value was procured to sit on top of Donovan's writing desk ---since he did find the Clunker after all. Soon enough Rackham was called for and sweetling was put into a safer habitat for hatching.

Still, we hope Clunker will remain fond of the Archives in the future, as Donovan and Latte already seem to be gossiping about taking him under their tutelage.
