Kumo was the first outside dragon to make contact with the Edge of the Wyld Clan once they officially put down roots. She stumbled into the cave on her search for knowledge and found Faewyld struggling with three young hatchlings to feed as well as three or four others who'd wandered in at the sight of firelight peeking through the cascading falls. For a time she took over the position of matriarch within the clan. Kumo was the first teacher in the Clan, spending hours with the three young females teaching them of the infinite world around them. She taught them of the Flights, the different legacies of each of the deities, and dazzled them with vivid imagery of the millions of stars that lit up the night in the Starwood Strand and the various other lands through which she traveled before finally reaching the Edge of the Wyld.

There are rumors that she once shared a nest with Faewyld while Akane was flitting about doing whatever she chose, but any hatchlings that came from such a union have long since departed the clan. There is a lingering gentleness in the relationship between Kumo and Faewyld that lends credence to the story, but the two speak now only of friendship.

When Frosty first came to the Edge of the Wyld Clan, he was instantly besotted by Kumo and the two spent many nights together sharing stories and tea. They've shared a nest or two, but neither settled down with the other and Kumo has since moved into her own modest quarters near the library. Frosty still claims that Kumo is his muse, but the two have settled into their friendship nicely and Frosty can often be found sharing tea with her and listening with almost as rapt attention as he himself garners as she describes various places in Sornieth that her journeys have taken her.

Kumo was away when the Shadow Hunters attacked, running a diplomatic mission between the Edge of the Wyld and a clan deep in the Southern Icefield. When she finally returned to find the clan ravaged, she immediately sent off for help from the various allies they'd made over the seasons and coordinated efforts to get things back on an even keel as much as possible.

Nowadays, Kumo has the official position of "Chief Advisor" and usually doesn't stray too far from Kinya's side as she helps the Edge of the Wyld clan leader keep things running from day to day. It was on Kumo's recommendation that River and later McNair were brought on board to help Kinya balance all the duties required of her for the ever-changing environment surrounding the clan.

While there are days when Kumo longs for the humming crystals and magic of the Starfall Isles, she feels she has truly found a home amongst the Edge of the Wyld clan and their beautiful falls and the tangled glory of the Wyldwood that has its own draw.
