One of the first dragons to join the clan that was not born of Ice, Ustrina came as a gift from a now long deserted clan. She was only a hatchling when she arrived, but had a fire that burned in her as bright as her own eyes, a fire of passion and strength. Tatore took her under his wings and claimed her as his own adopted daughter. With his mentoring, she quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the battlefield.

Ustrina is rarely ever not seen around Tatore or her coliseum crew. A veteran fighter in her own right, she has trained countless dragons in the ways of battle. She and Tatore have a bond that is both strong in paternal love and the love of training. While neither she nor Tatore are violent in nature by any means, they both know well that the only way to defend their clan, home and the allies of their fellow Dragons and Beasts is to hone one's strengths and fight the good fight. Tor has shown Ustrina the ways of mercy to the weak, and they do not give total bloodshed unless no other option presents itself. Mindless fighting only creates mindless beasts with darkened hearts. Ustrina, like her mentor, is hardly ever seen without a gentle smile.

When she isn't in the coliseum with Tatore, Ustrina can typically be found with her longtime mate, Benjamin. While she is the fighter, he has kept himself far and clear of battle. He, as the clan's resident banker and wealth keeper, he happily counts and documents all the treasures his beloved brings home. She and Benjamin have not always been as close as they are now. A now long exalted Ridgeback had made his way into Ustrina's heart for a short period of time when she and Ben had taken a break to figure themselves out as separate beings. Though as the saying goes love will find a way, the two Guardians soon did end up as lifemates. Though they seem completely opposite from eachother, in reality they couldn't fit together any closer.

Besides a love of the coliseum, if there is one other thing everyone in the clan knows about Ustrina it is that she absolutely adores Chimeras. Discovering one as her Charge, and now her true familiar, she avidly collects anything Chimera oriented. She can frequently be found in the Arena venue playing with the few docile Chimeras that haven't been Shadetouched. No one is quite sure why the Guardian loves such a ferocious beast as one would a kitten, though it matters not. Most in the clan have become accustomed to seeing the creatures roaming around here and there around the clan, knowing that they have been tamed by Ustrina.
