Biography

Elgadi

BATTLE COMMANDER | EARTH REP

{ "If you touch Umber again, I'll rip off your claws." }

Waves of infection and earth permeated the air, the cries of his comrades drowned out by the shattering rumble of the ground. the Plague dragons were relentless, tearing through his well trained forces like nothing.

"COMMANDER! GET DOWN!"

Elgadi barely had time to register his lieutenants words before a plague imperial crashed through the sky, claws barely grazing his crest as he ducked last second. His lieutenant, who had called to him, was the target of the imperials wrath, and Elgadi couldn't do anything but watch in horror as the Imperial warrior ripped him apart. the battle was lost, Elgadi knew that, but he felt like his life had been ripped from him.

He fought until his muscles ached, until his wings were exhausted. the fury that the plague fighters had sparked in Elgadi after slaughtering his platoon were their end. Tired, weak, and injured, Elgadi wandered the border of the Quarantine zone, the Parched Canyonwalks visible. he couldn't return now, he was a failure of a commander.

He'd let his comrades down.

He walked the border of Dragonhome for days, following the tangled vines of Shadow territory. guilt filled his chest as he saw Terraclae in the distance, and he felt himself slinking closer to the bramble.

as he reached The gate between Dragonhome and the Tangled wood, he made his way into the Shadowbinder's territory, desperate for refuge among the glowing flora and darkened marsh.

Elgadi was about to pass the dusk sanctum, when he was slammed into by... another dragon? the impact sent them both tumbling, and as Elgadi regained his footing, he tensed, sore muscles prepping for another battle. was there nowhere he could rest?

he was surprised, guard dropping slightly as he watched the young Nocturn struggle to upright, like a turtle turned on its shell. "who are you?" he asked, his tone coming out a bit harsher than he intended. the nocturn stilled, before scrambling upright, mimicking the defensive behaviour of a skydancer by attempting to flair out feathers that weren't there. "Your in my clans territory! i needa defend it!" the Nocturn exclaimed. Elgadi was reminded of his siblings, and his grandfather, eager to fight and defend. This Nocturn before him could never dream of defeating him in battle, but the passion was there. "ah, well, if you wish to fight, start by fixing your stance." Elgadi instructed, lowering his own posture in demonstration.

The Nocturn Youth seemed fascinated, shuffling to copy Elgadi's stance. "better," Elgadi praised, relaxing. "but you have much to learn."

"Umber, dear, what are you doing out here?" a gentle voice called, making Elgadi look up from the Nocturn still braced in front of him. A Skydancer, adorned in carved bones and robes, came forward, chuckling fondly at the Youth - Umber's stance. "learning how to fight, are you?" the Skydancer mused, looking over to Elgadi. "and who might you be?" Elgadi hesitated. this newcomer didn't seem hostile, and if Umber had trust, maybe Elgadi could trust them as well. "...my name is Elgadi. i apologize for intruding on your clans territory." he formally apologised, bowing his head respectfully at the Skydancer, who smiled. "no need for that, its quite alright." there was a pause, before the Skydancer continued. "my name is Tropi, i am the Bonesmith for my clan. ...you seem quite injured, did you come from a battle?" Elgadi looked away, sighing. "i did, yes. Plague dragons." that was all he said, an Tropi seemed to understand, nodding slowly.

"we can tend to your wounds, I'm sure Orion would be happy to help you," Tropi offered, and Umber, who had been practicing going into the stance Elgadi had shown, perked up. "Can he? i wanna learn more about fighting!" Elgadi considered, before sighing. he needed the rest anyways, and these were a nice batch.

with another sigh, Elgadi gave a small nod. "alright, lead the way."
