He was found at the edge of the shadow flight. The strange dragon explained he had "gotten exiled", and was thrilled to be able to join Bloodsurge’s ranks. A surprise to the dragons, who usually have to at least coerce the target dragon before they hop aboard the war wagon.

Xavtumal is already mistrusted by the clan for being a shadow dragon, and his careless demeanor does not relax them one bit. The Dusthide’s pathetic fighting skill does not help this at all, and even in battle he is put in more dangerous positions in hope of getting rid of him.
