◈ APPEARANCE ◈ Rosco looks the same way he sounds; gruff, uncomfortable and entirely too ready to leave the conversation. See, he’s not what you’d call a people person. And if you look past his scars, and his five o’ clock shadow, and the layers of trenchcoat and vest and dress shirt, it’s not hard to see why. He’s young—practically a child. He has no idea what he’s doing. But don’t tell him that. The only thing Rosco hates more than small talk is being told he’s wrong. ◈ HISTORY ◈ Rosco is, above all, methodical and inquisitive. By eleven he was a better maintenance man than his clan’s engineer, and he took to magic like a fish to water. But what he really wanted, even then, was to be a detective. Rosco loved mysteries. A good whodunit always got the gears turning in his head. He could sniff out a twist ending a mile away. So, when he came of age, Rosco put himself out there. Sold his keen eyes to the common man. Eventually, he landed himself a job at some fancy detective agency. He only learned afterwards how corrupt they were. Tracking down debtors who robbed the wrong man to make ends meet isn’t what he’d hoped for. Neither is telling union men to, as the saying often goes in the Lightning flight, “Get back to work” or have an unscheduled meeting with the barrel of a revolver. But at least it’s a living, he supposes. ◈ ASSOCIATIONS ◈ It’s said that misfortune befalls any who associate with the outlaw known as Riley. Whether they’re helping her hide or just seeing her in passing, it will come back to bite them eventually. Likewise, it is said that those who work alongside the prolific bounty hunter Shawshank are blessed with steady work and vicious protection. But what happens when one finds themself in both situations at once? What happens when one of Riley’s former accomplices takes up a bounty and finds themself beside the tracker? What happens when an apprentice of Shawshank decides they’d rather be the face on the wanted poster? Is it felicity or disaster that will follow them?
