Biography

Char
he/him

Char belongs to an impressively large lair, even by dusthide standards. The winding tunnels extend deep beneath the earth, with a not insignificant portion reaching beyond sea level. While he, himself, does not dwell in the lowest reaches of the lair, it is certainly a thing to boast about.

He lives in the upper branches of the lair, where it would take less than a day to reach aboveground. This sometimes leaves him and his kin more vulnerable to altercations with other burrowing creatures who don't venture quite so deep as the rest of their tunnel network. During one such altercation, Char was chased aboveground by a burrow bear and got himself turned around. While he knew vaguely where the burrow entrances of his home lie, he had some difficulty tracking them down.

Haunt stumbled upon him during this time, while he was curled up, asleep and briefly mistook him for an interesting piece of stone. That mistake cost her a chunk of flesh when Char startled awake and lashed out. However, when the dust settled, the two formed a tentative alliance, Haunt allowing Char to shelter in her home to finish recuperating from his scuffle before he set off to find home.

Char managed to find home, not too far a hike from Haunt's. He visits her frequently, and more often than not brings friends or family when he does. The short ventures aboveground still make him nervous, but they're well worth it to see his friend.
