Nightstar

Nightstar was always an outsider. That is why he had taken the trials not to become a necromancer, but to be loved by his clan.

But time was running out for him.

Although he had been touched by the plaguebringer's infection- days were passing, and he could not beat back the infection given to him.


In fact, he seemed to be growing weaker by the day, his body unable to take the strain of the trials anymore. He knew even if he survived he would not recover in time to take the third trial.


So, in desperation, he prayed to the shade, praying for a way out of this fate.
And the shade responded.

In his dreams, it spoke to him in the form of an Imperial dragon, and he bargained with the shade itself to pass the trials- to escape death, and receive the love and attention he so desperately craved.

“Add in complementary grilled cheese sandwiches, and we have a deal!”

When he returned home, he was not loathed and ridiculed, but worshiped as a “Necromancer”.

Honor, attention, and even grilled cheese- he had it all.

And even as his wings and stripes turned from red to black, his clan was none the wiser.
