Amir

It’s been a long, cold night as the sun finally starts to rise. Amir looks at the sunrise. Finally, he has made it. He never thought that traveling back to his home clan would be such a horrible experience. All he wanted to do was to spend some time in the Boreal Wood, which by all accounts went well. He found a lot of usable loot. But when he started to leave, a blizzard hit and Amir was spun around, suddenly he was completely lost! He luckily had food on him from his time in the woods, otherwise he would have perished a long time ago.

But Amir is still lost, and he doesn’t know which way to go to find his way back to the clan. Next time, he is taking someone with him for sure. The sun rises some more and Amir sets out from his makeshift shelter. He travels to the nearest tree to check if he passed it earlier. However, it’s not marked yet, so Amir marks it and marks every tree he passes. He remembers his clan being past the treeline, so if he just keeps checking, he will eventually find his way back. Amir is sure of that.

Suddenly, he spots something from beyond the trees. A speck of pink in the endless sea of white. Amir gets ready to fight, but the enemy doesn’t seem to feel the same, as it gets closer at a leisurely pace. An owlynx, but not one of those Shade-crazed creatures as you often see. It regards him with curiosity, and Amir relaxes his stance. No need to attack an innocent creature. The owlynx sniffs him, rubs onto him, and then walks forward again. Amir instinctively follows the fuzzy animal.

It might not know the way to Amir’s clan, but it will at least give him some kind of comfort while he is lost.
