[YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...]
These are the surviving Regenerators of the Scorpion King.
Deep within the Cairnstone Rest, perceeded by the sound of their stertorous breathing and the slap of their suspended sleeping crates hitting the ones of their failed kin next to them, these Dusthide morphs should be avoided at all costs.
They can revive themselves as long as even one of their three hearts is pumping. Some of them have an ability to grow one heart more after the three previous ones have stilled. Their hearts don’t have any order or logic on where in the body they are located.
As long as they are asleep, they are harmless, so do not under any circumstances wake them up.
They have an unrivaled prey drive and look to devour anything moving on their path.
When the Scorpion King came upon two of Earthshaker’s Dusthides wounded, at a point in time where he was still doing his immoral experiments, he promised a place -a home- for them to heal and get stronger for as long as they needed. He and Tehran entertained them, showed them the whole clan’s hospitality, made them want to stay. The Dusthides seemed to blend in well with the clan.
When some of the Hamunaptrans noticed the two Dusthides were suddenly missing, they informed the clan leader. The Scorpion King assured everything was fine; that the Dusthides were not forced to stay, they could leave without telling them. This calmed them somewhat but there was still an inckling of… something that told them to be cautious. Of what, they did not know. But they started to search for anyone who had last seen the Dusthide pair. Some said it was by the market, some had last seen them before their departure at the social spaces. One said they’d last seen a quick glimpse of them the night before and that they’d seen them with Tehran. How curious…
Tehran had been guiding them to the Scorpion King in order for them to begin their tests on the unsuspecting subjects.
When the clan figured out what had happened to the two Dusthides, they demanded them to be freed and for the Scorpion King to be brought to justice for what he had done. However, it was clear that the Dusthides were in no state to be freed due to their new... instincts, so only the punishments for the Scorpion King and Tehran would be brought to light. They were buried alive, next to each other.
Someone was not yet satisfied with the proceedings and decided to bring justice to the victims and went to the laboratory and released them. The Dusthides went rampant and the clan was wiped out, except for a previous clanmember, Vladislaus Lancast, who had been banished long before.
Experiment/Test #1: FAILURE
The experiments began with the male Dusthide. Both were traquilized with a high enough dose for their sized dragons. The female was put in a container tube fro safekeeping while we Scorpion King and Tehran operated on the male. First test was to see how well a foreign organ could survive in an ancient. Immediately upon dispatching the support systems on the foreign organ after it was placed into the new body, it stopped its functions. Thus, the experiment was a failure.
Notes:
Larger dose of tranquilizer needed for the next experiment; the female woke up before we could put the male one back in with her.
Do not begin the next experiment before the shipment has arrived and the lab is in possession of the larger dose of tranquilizer.
Experiment/Test #246: SUCCESS
Finally, the subjects seem to take well with the new organs. The most sturdiest ones have gained the ability to selfgrow one more when needed. We will be naming this new variation of Dusthides as Regenerators.
Notes:
There appeared to be numerous side effects, however these were only superficial/cosmetic changes and thus to be counted as neither success nor failure.

All the noise from the Chernogorsk clan awoke something within the depths of the lost Hamunaptra clan’s territory. Something that had a reason to stay asleep and slumbering…
Something from the Scorpion King’s past, to show that Vladislaus Lancast was not the only Hamunaptran to do tests on dragons…
And Tehran - a snake they remembered - was in the wrong place, at the wrong time…
