 What had she gotten herself into?
Aiae was in too deep. She felt hesitant when they took away her genes, even more so when they gave her new painted colours overtop her obsidian scales. When Destruction gave his speeches she felt fear rather than adoration, the cruelty in his eyes seemingly only evident to her. He was just using them, couldn't they see that? She knew he could sense it, could tell she didn't believe it when he spoke of his divinity.
She needed to get out, but where could she go? She had left her old clan because of a tyrannical leader, only to be plunged into an even worse situation. They loosely resided within a clan but no one truly respected their beliefs, and her timid nature made her afraid to ask for help. Could she just leave? Something about the way Destruction looked at her told her that wasn't an option.
She needed to think of an escape before it was too late.
