A spiral born in Wispwillow grove, Aquila displays the fickle tendencies of his home flight in his easily distracted nature. However, he often harbored a sense of estrangement from his fellows, who often preferred wiling away the time by playing games and pranks on other flights and each other. Aquila had a far more benevolent nature that alienated him from his family and clanmates, and a deeper interest in greater things with far more meaningful connotations. He was often caught daydreaming, stargazing, and drifting aimlessly about the territory of his home clan, appearing entirely lost in deep thought. Concerned over his dispirited nature and theorizing it a restlessness typical of his breed, his parents permitted him to roam the continent and bid he explore and seek out this deeper meaning for himself. The prospect of a journey aligned well with Aquila's fickle and curious nature. He roamed all of Sornieth, admiring everything above and below him and charting out each unique flight and it's distinct characteristics in it's land, it's skies, and the dragons that inhabited both. With no destination in mind, he zig-zagged and looped about wherever his heart so fancied, visiting landmarks and venues that piqued his interest. It was while doing this that he heard of a brilliant meteor shower that would be visiting the heavens above them. Eager to enjoy the astrological event to it's fullest, Aquila decided to take a coastal flight along the northern half of the eastern side of Sornieth that would end with his entering the Moonportal and returning home to visit his family. In the midst of his blind admiring of the falling stars that wondrously seemed to surround him as he carried his body above the cloudline, Aquila failed to pay attention to his altitude and rose a bit too far. Without enough oxygen to fuel his flight, his muscles began to cramp, and Aquila plummeted towards the fathomless ocean. In a last-ditch effort to land safely, he angled his descent and kept his wings spread as well as he could... Causing him to collide with a male pearlcatcher whom had been watching the very same starshower and stood perfectly in his trajectory along the cliffsides of the Sunbeam ruins. After a rough tumble downhill, Aquila and Saros separated very flustered but mostly unharmed. A few awkward introductions and a period of time spent with one another for recovery later, and the pair developed a close bond. Now an inseparable mated pair, the two dragons pursue their joined study of the stars while lovingly raising a family of their own. Though Aquila often daydreams, Saros grounds him with his down-to-earth temperament and unquestioning affections. They 'weave' their children using deep Arcane magics and a catalyst of stardust, resulting in glimmering blue patches of starlight in their scales. These beautiful hatchlings are raised to value knowledge and creativity as two halves of a whole rather than two opposing factors, and often become scholars or wanderers themselves. |
