A long lost home and a long forgotten legacy. All Vernal holds now are xeir memories of what once was and xeir dulled plumage.
Xey have seen many historical feats within xeir travels. Some minuscule, some grand, all lost to the transience of time. In the end, all that is left are the stories that beings pass on, down generations and between clans. Oftentimes, the most unexpected stories are the ones to survive the longest, caught and kept inside the mouths of delighted gossips and mystifying stories over a campfire.
It would be far too easy to allow xemselves to slowly disappear like those feats. All it would take is a permanent seclusion from the world, and that in itself would be a similar final fate.
Even so, xey cannot surrender and slumber alongside xeir family. Not for as long as xey are the only one to remember their stories, and their betrayal.
