cloverwood
a rosy, honeyed fog beckons you into the fringes of the shrieking wilds. behind you, the everbloom gardens foremost offer their prayers for fortune but also their farewell condolences, should you not return. (when the entire forest is breathing in shrieks, yours are not easily discernible.) the labyrinth of pines looming before you likely exchanged secrets with the glademother in her fledgling years. the fog, smelling of wildflowers and fear, has robbed you of much of your sight; every step must be calculated with caution as the underbrush is too thick to utilize flight. ferns break under your step as you move deeper into the unfamiliar territory. some time has passed and seemingly purposeful tokens appear sporadically: wildwood moss grows thicker, like a veil; blackened antlers of long dead foes dangle from low-lying branches. these are the only beacons you have to follow, so you do.
by now, only faint hints of sunlight dapple your hide through the forest's crown. you feel hot and breathless; you can feel your chest and throat tightening. all pathways leading where you presume to be forward begin to look the same. just as the feelings of panic and impending claustrophobia become unbearable, the forest abruptly opens into blinding sunlight and a meadow of grasses and wildflowers. before you, a carved stump reads: "from my rotting body, flowers shall grow, and i am in them, and that is eternity."

THE FORESTS ⬩ visual the vast majority of cloverwood is forested. these temperate forests can range from majority coniferous to mixed to majority deciduous in species composition. each individual forest's makeup varies slightly with altitude, temperature, soil composition, proximity to bodies of water; and with what animals inhabit it and how those animals use the land and its resources. |

THE LAIR ⬩ visual the clan's lair is an extensive cave system that was discovered within the mountains to the northwest. the caves feature a major river and many tributary streams surrounded by sandy river banks; small, mixed forests that grow closer and closer to the cave's ceiling; and moist, moss-covered walls. the primary chambers are large enough to house dragons of any size and the communal resources; whereas any smaller chambers are used by familiars or to store personal belongings. |

THE MEADOW ? |

THE ALTAR the residents of cloverwood maintain a year-round altar to the glademother, leaving offerings in hopes of good fortune. offerings may include particularly beautiful crops from a harvest or forage; fresh or dried florals; baked goods or other products from the clan; and the occasional skull, bone, or feather. |

THE GARDEN cloverwood's garden allows for full bellies year-round for the clan's herbivores, insectivores, and omnivores; especially in thanks to the viridian labyrinth's favorable climate. the inner garden is surrounded by a tall stone wall to protect it from unwanted opportunists. beyond the wall, it is surrounded by a field of sunflowers or corn depending on the season. to ensure the health and longevity of the natural soil, on occasion raised beds are erected or clover is planted as a cover crop. the garden is primarily attended by humus, while harvesting is tackled by all clan members. vegetables
