Ezekiel was found as an egg, but still managed to grow up with a general sense of bafflement towards those who raised him and his surroundings. He frequently gets lost in thought and though his expressions may seem uneasy, it is actually extremely difficult to make him uncomfortable.

Like many of the orphaned eggs, or infrequent nests, of the clan before it took the name Corrosive, Ezekiel was mostly raised by Elturigard. That other worldly influence on his early life no doubt did little to help him into understanding the more mundane relationships between others.

During the war he sided with the iiliah, finding their diplomatic approach to assimilation more to his liking. When they were defeated, it was Bayrune's influence that saved Ezekiel and others like him from banishment for supporting Lye's enemies. He stayed closed to Bayrune during the pilgrimage, and found that upon the naming of the clan, he would like to take up a role similar to one the skydancer held.

His general misunderstanding of the simplest things hold its usefulness in that everything must be explained and very carefully worded, making him a useful moderator when a more delicate or specific contract is presented to the clan. Most find his demeanor quite charming as well, and despite his insistence on going over things over and over again, have a difficult time becoming frustrated or mad at him.
