Biography
Chosen Mate: None
Good Point: Cool under pressure
Bad Point: Has trouble speaking with other dragons.
Role: Necromancer
Necromantic Symbol(s): Tools (his jewelry is both in solidarity with Flower and because of a love of shiny things)
General Job: Flower's right hand and mate. Works best with his familiar at his side.
From a young age, Altair showed a mysterious power - the one to speak to birds, and all like them. Whatever he said, they'd understand. And whatever they might utter, he could make sense of. It made him stand out quite readily among his peers. Many of them didn't think he'd take the path of the necromancer because of it. They were wrong.
He had many siblings, brothers and sisters alike, who attempted the trials. At least one of them had achieved greatness, something he too wanted to show he was capable of. But like many lesser crows, Altair was a more supportive sort rather than one who took to the front lines. Quiet, with a smidgen of difficulty speaking to other dragons, he found it difficult to even find allies.
Then Flower, oddity that she was, caught his eyes. She was full of energy, outspoken about her beliefs, and despite her unusual condition was a generally pleasant dragon to be around should one also be loyal to Plaguebringer. Being a wildclaw like himself also helped Flower to draw in the avian dragon to her side. All that he had to do was actually talk to her - the most difficult part of all.
Altair tried his best to say what he wanted to, stumbling over words and having trouble knowing which ones to use. But none of this annoyed Flower - if anything, she seemed to be charmed by it. The two necromancers had a long conversation - mostly because of Altair's own difficulties - but eventually, Altair managed to get what he wanted off of his chest. He wanted to join Flower, to support her and make her skills even better. All he wanted in return was to be up there with her when she achieved great things.
Flower, who had already been won over simply from the attempts to try and say all of this, was more than happy to let Altair join her.
Altair is a lesser necrow, one that has found himself subordinate to another necromancer. However, this situation is one he finds ideal as he lacks the confidence to lead his own entourage, and has difficulty speaking to most other dragons. He is decidedly calm under pressure, and a loyal ally when push comes to shove.
As a necromancer, Altair's abilities lean more towards those of an advisor and a priest since he works with Flower among the Counselors. Though he has trouble speaking to most, this issue disappears among other goat-eyed necromancers and makes him a valuable partner should Flower need to communicate with one.
His familiar, nicknamed Citrus, helps him in conveying his thoughts when trouble arises for him. The little sparrowmouse has an enchanted collar that allows her to convey a few key words and phrases when Altair is finding it difficult to voice them himself. Flower commissioned the collar, and it was made by Woodblight's resident enchanter, Helios. Citrus is also trained to deliver messages and small trinkets to certain individuals that Altair indicates as trustworthy.
