The white winged lion sanctuary watchkeeper, who dreaded the spread of the Abyss.
The Guardian exhibited traits of several animals other than lions, suggesting that it was no ordinary beast, but rather closer to the beings known as Demons.

The Guardian is a chimeric demon resembling a manticore. It guards the Oolacile Sanctuary from invaders utilizing lightning powers and its own various body parts. Perhaps raised by Dusk in earlier years, however later going on to protect the sanctuary despite Dusk's wishes.

The Sanctuary Guardians are an amalgamation of traits from several animals like lions, goats, scorpions and birds. They were created by the sorcerers of Oolacile, capable of manipulating the forces of nature with knowledge and means that not even the sorcerers of Vinheim were able to replicate, to defend the Sanctuary Garden of their country. Although these creatures were not created by the Bed of Chaos and therefore cannot be defined as demons, the process with which they were obtained, mixing characteristics of different animals thanks to the sorcery of souls and life, makes them very similar to the demons of chaos, produced by the Flame of Chaos created in imitation of the First Flame.
