Cressida

One of the few Water-born dragons living in this Arcane clan, Cressida possesses the gift of prophecy, her visions coming to her mainly in her sleep. A natural talent at navigating the landscape of dreams, she has thus spent a good part of her life in the warmth of the clan's hibernal den, waking only occasionally, but happily, to share her discoveries. However, since the disappearance of her deity, the Tidelord, her sleep began to appear deeper, yet somehow more restless; her episodes of wakefulness decreasing both in frequency and in duration, she nevertheless continued to assure her clanmates of her wellbeing. Many grew concerned, but, refusing to give up the part of herself she treasured, she continued to sink into her deep, fitful sleep, searching still more frantically within herself for answers - until one day, she had not woken in weeks, then months, then years. Unable to emerge from the world of dreams, she became a fixture of the hibernal den, appearing peaceful when taken care of by her clanmates, only her twitching whiskers betraying a hint of distress.

Until the one day the den suddenly stirred and shook as its largest and quietest resident seemingly exploded awake, sending a shockwave through the peaceful space of rest as others were woken up by the sudden movement. Scraping the ceiling with her antlers and unfurling wings, unaware of her surroundings, Cress scrambled to her feet. A desperate roaring cry could be heard loud and clear even among the complaining chatter of rudely awakened dragons.

"FATHER? FATHER? FATHER?!"



Since this day, after relaying the message she had heard to her clanmates, Cress has not gone back to sleep for more than a normal night, finding it now more fit to involve herself actively in the search for her deity. Her loved ones second the motion, loathe to allow her to isolate herself in her dreams again. She has since found more love, as well, with one of the Fathom dragons to be welcomed to the clan, Wavecrash, who she now has two adorable hatchlings with. Other than the Tidelord's message, she has not relayed any of what she has seen in her long, long sleep - she seems to have forgotten, perhaps for the better...
