When Felrin discovered a strange formation on a scavenging run, he immediately brought it back to his workshop for inspection. Shaped like an egg, but colored and textured unlike any he had ever seen before, he had been ready to bust it open and use it for crafting when it split itself, revealing two glowing eyes, which the skydancer promptly sprinted away from, screeching in a rather undignified manner. When he returned to the workshop-accompanied by several larger dragons- he found no trace of the dragon or the shell, only a small puddle of goo.
Days later, when Laeo noticed that the food in his stash was disappearing much faster than he was eating it, he discovered a tiny thief skittering out of one of his chests. As it turned out, a tiny mechanical spider had followed Felrin back from his expedition, and by the looks of it, had been programmed to protect the strange egg, as it became readily apparent that both hatchling and spider had somehow originated from the shifting expanse. Laeo followed the spider to the small hole it had been cooped up in with the baby nocturne, and he brought her into the clan proper. Felrin, as the first dragon to encounter her, was chosen to give her a name. "Evil," he insisted, backing away from her glowing stare. Laeo changed the pronunciation somewhat, and thus, Iavelle was adopted into her new clan.
Felrin is still terrified of her, since she has learned to copy her familiar, and therefore dresses entirely in golden plate and skitters around very low to the ground and very fast, terrifying anyone who doesn't notice until she is underfoot.
